Its disheartening to hear that two months after formation of our long awaited Ministry even basics like meetings with stakeholders are far fetched.
I want to believe our so called "cultural policy" was a brain child of NAC,but reading through that small book,we can't help but infer why the state of the arts in our country is the way it is.
Clearly a new, detailed and comprehensive cultural policy has to be put in place. This means a long and winding consultative process which must begin as soon as yesterday. Honestly,an entire Ministry cannot be formed on the basis of that our small book we call cultural policy. If that is the case then it will be the same old story.
Mr Kausu is an authority and a man of vast experience in the arts,he knows too well what is at stake and that there is little or nothing new that the current team at NAC will bring that they have not done over the years.
If nothing is done now,it will be business as usual at NAC and the same old song for the artists.
NICKSON ALITILI-ZAOU STUDENTNick Alitili Arthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06559518900331810164noreply@blogger.com
